Scheme of sustainable forestry

Robust mixed stand by silviculture
A sustainable and ecological forestry guarantees the continuity of the forest and also preserves its diversity and beauty at the same time. Sustainability means to take only the wood which grows again.
Using wood means silviculture
Forests have to be regularly thinned to obtain hardiness. There is presently no market for the great mass of thinning wood. Therefore a lot of wood is rotting in the forest; the energy content is equivalent to more then one billion litres of light fuel oil alone in Bavaria.
We have enough wood
Forests spread over 23% of the total area in the county of Pfaffenhofen; this is less in comparison to the average rate of 35% in Bavaria. Even so there is more then enough wood for the plant in a circle of about 40 km.
