Bark, rinds, sawdust and woodchips for the usage of energy
|
Sawmills
In addition to the paper industry sawmills take great quantities of thinning wood. They process half of the logged wood.
Wood-waste for energy production
30% spin-off like bark, rinds, sawdust and woodchips is produced by processing trunk wood in sawmills. Today these wood-waste is normally transported on long distances to produce cellulose and paper. These long-distance-transports can be avoided by burning the wood-waste in biomass plants near by.
The co-generation plant in Pfaffenhofen is delivered out of the region by different sawmills with 55.000 tons every year.
