Only untreated wood out of forests and wood waste from saw-mills will be used in the co-generation plant. Burning these natural woodchips causes lowest emissions according to studies of the "Bavarian Environmental Protection Agency". The wood combustion causes ashes which can be divided in two different fractions: in boiler and filter ash. In the several steps of flue gas cleaning the percentage of total ash decreases and the pollution increases. In the boiler we have nearly 60% of the total ash which is of coarse structure. In the first step of flue gas cleaning the multicyclone separates another 30%. These two fractions -in total 90%- can be used and sold as a fertiliser. The remaining 10% are cleaned by the electro filter and by condensation. These fine ashes have to be disposed and deposited.
